SUMMARY

Detail of Hera from a painting depicting the return of Hephaistos to Olympos. The goddess is trapped in a cursed throne sent to her by her son Hephaistos - punishment for casting him from heaven as a babe. An attendant, perhaps Hebe, cools her with a feather fan. A Satyriskos attendant of Dionysos plays a flute.
