THE PHASEIDES were the Naiad Nymphs of the marshes and streams of the River Phasis in Kolkhis (Colchis) on the Black Sea.

"The whole meadow trembled under her [Hekate's] feet, and the Nymphai Heleionomai (of marsh) and Potameides (or river) who haunt the fens by Amarantian Phasis cried out in fear."
