DESCRIPTION
Detail of Hera from a painting depicting the return of Hephaestus to Olympus. The goddess is trapped in a cursed throne sent to her by her son Hephaestus as punishment for casting him from heaven as a babe. An attendant, perhaps Hebe, cools her with a feather fan. A Satyriscus attendant of Dionysus plays a double-flute.
