DESCRIPTION
The god Dionysus (Roman Bacchus) is portrayed as a plump, nude youth with long, wavy hair holding a bunch of grapes in his hand. He is attended by a Satyriscus (boy-Satyr) and a panther. The Satyr, perhaps the god's cupbearer Comus, wears a goat- or deer-skin cape and bears a shepherd's crock.
